About the
Foundation…
Trista & Dax Fergerson - Holly & Brayden Legg.
Perfect Fit Foundation was founded by Trista Fergerson and Holly Legg. Trista and Holly became friends through a mutual friend that introduced them after both of their boys were diagnosed with Autism at 4 years old. It didn’t take long for Trista and Holly to begin brainstorming all the ways they could help not only their own boys, but other kids in the community who needed it.
Trista and Holly began creating events such as a 5k run/walk, Special Needs Night at Long Branch Lagoon, Baseball camps at Dodge City A’s and Conq games and the Exceptional Rodeo at Roundup Rodeo! They also participated in World Autism Day on April 2nd with the City of Dodge City to bring awareness to Autism by lighting up local statues blue!
Upon entering school, Trista’s son Dax, who still wasn’t functionally speaking, began exhibiting maladaptive behaviors and with research it was apparent to Trista what Dax would benefit most from was Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA Therapy) from a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) . The nearest ABA clinic was 150 mile distance and due to the intensity of services, traveling would not be feasible. Trista knew if her own son would benefit from the services, so would many other kids in the area! That was when Perfect Fit Therapy Clinic became the mission of Perfect Fit Foundation.
Dodge City is a community and home to Trista’s family It was not a place they wanted to move from. After countless phone calls, questions and prayers, Trista decided to pursue the development of Perfect Fit Therapy Clinic to bring services to the children of Southwest Kansas. Upon bringing the idea to Holly, the ladies agreed that they would be doing their sons a disservice if she didn’t bring the therapy and help they so desperately needed and deserved, in turn helping many other children along the way that also needed the service.
